When a law firm undergoes a complete brand transformation, the visual identity has to match the ambition. That's exactly the challenge MDK Legal faced. Our team at Actuality Media ended up producing three compelling videos at their headquarters, located in the Westgate Park area of Columbus, Ohio.

MDK Legal had been working with one of our agency partners, Brave Little Beast, a brand and web design agency that is nestled in the heart of downtown Gahanna at 106 Short St # 102, Gahanna, OH 43230. Their goal was to completely reimagine MDK’s brand identity; from logo and color palette to a brand new website that matched the firm's standard of excellence.
As the new site got closer to launching, MDK's team recognized something was missing: a website this sharp would benefit from high quality video as well. Static pages alone couldn't capture who MDK is, the personalities behind the firm, or what makes them different. They needed video.
Brave Little Beast reached out to us and brought the Actuality Media team into the fold. And the project was off.

We met multiple times with Liz Monachino from MDK Legal to map out the vision. Our favorite meeting spot we met at was at the Grandview location of High Bank Distillery Co. (located at 1051 Goodale Blvd, Columbus, OH 43212), a great spot with the kind of atmosphere that gets the creative gears turning.
Over these meetings, the scope came together. The plan was to produce three main videos:
The plan was set. Time to bring the vision to life.

MDK Legal's Columbus office isn't your average law firm. It's spacious, beautifully designed, and full of visual character. It’s exactly the kind of space that makes a videographer's job a lot more fun.
We conducted 10 interviews with MDK team members across 10 different spots within the same building. That was a deliberate call on our end. When you repeat the same interview background over and over throughout a video, it gets stale fast. Moving the setup around the office kept things visually fresh, gave each interview its own feel, and made the final cut a lot more engaging to watch. Not to mention it made for a great excuse to show off different areas of the office, so that viewers can really feel how large the MDK office is.
Coordinating 10 people across 10 locations inside an active law firm takes some legwork. We worked closely with Liz to coordinate callsheets that carefully scheduled everyone’s interviews in. Thankfully, as the two days of filming went on, we ended up being ahead of schedule for the rest of the filming phase.
We also took the drone up to capture aerial footage of the MDK office and the surrounding Columbus area. We filmed wide establishing shots that add scale and give the viewer a real sense of place.

Once we had everything filmed, we moved into the video editing phase while constantly referencing MDK's brand guidelines during the post-production process.
The goal was to make videos that feel like MDK. We wanted viewers to watch the homepage piece and immediately recognize the same brand voice they'd find anywhere else on the site.

The final deliverables were three polished videos totaling around 15 minutes of content. MDK Legal walked away with:
The MDK team was pleased with how it all came together. The video assets now work as public-facing brand assets on the website and as long-term internal resources for the team.
